Sidecar Experiences in Porto

Truly the best tour we did in Portugal Of all the tours we did in Portugal (Lisbon and Porto), the half-morning tour with Joao and Peter was by far the best! Joao was super engaged with our kids (8 and 11), funny, spirited, and very knowledgeable. He even got my daughter a pastel de nata with a birthday candle on it because her birthday was coming up. I appreciated some of the historical places we saw, but I especially loved the modern art around the city that he showed us that is relevant to today. I also want to point out that not only did he stop for great photo opportunities, he took really fun posed but also “candid” photos and videos that made them much more interesting. He also dropped us off at a more local seafood spot for lunch which was super delicious. Highly, highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I were in Porto for 8 days and this experience was in our top two activities of our trip. Because this excursion happened on Day 7 of our trip, we had already seen a lot of Porto. Joao pivoted and took us on an “off the beaten path” adventure to view awesome street art, head to the ocean, and have yummy snacks. Joao had awesome recommendations and an incredible sense of humor. Thanks Joao for a very memorable experience! It was fun being a celebrity on your cool bike!

We went on a sidecar tour a few days ago and we absolutely loved it. Porto is a beautiful city with stunning views. But the best part of the tour was our driver / guide João. Loved his stories. Loved his knowledge and passion for history. Loved his recommendations for food and activities. But most of all we just loved João. He has a kindness, cheerfulness, humor, and generosity that makes you feel welcome and made the tour extra special. Highly recommended.

Wonderful tour with a wonderful guide taking us thru winding, narrow side streets in Porto on both sides of the Douro while telling us all about Porto. I loved our stop at Cafe El Rey’s, a neighborhood bar where our guide João’s grandfather used to visit. We discussed history, Porto, his family and more over wonderful espresso, pastels de nata and glasses of Favalos while a little rain passed by. We explored Fisherman’s Village and visited several beautiful view points and ended the evening as the sunset, drinking sparkling wine at the Mosteiro Santo Agostinho da Serra do Pilar. It was our last night and this was the perfect way to spend it.

Fantastic guide makes for a great tour My wife and I loved the side car, loved the wonderful views and beautiful buildings of Porto, but what made the tour memorable was our guide / driver João. Great stories, wonderfully told. Loved the tie-ins to Portugal’s rich history and the country’s place in world history. But the best was João’s humor and cheerfulness. We highly recommend this tour.

It was an A.Mazing morning on this side car tour around Porto and Gaia!! Passio was informative and fun with a passion for tradition, culture and beauty! We covered a lot of ground in 3 hours! The ride was comfortable and there are opportunities to get out for a snack, photo ops and a little walking around. Highly recommend this unique experience!!

Had a beautiful afternoon exploring Porto with lots of laughs, photos and the best kidnapper in town. Even though he kidnapped up for a few hours he kept us well hydrated with local drinks and food. My mom had the time of her life in the side car. Such an awesome way to see the city with the most kind hearted man in the city.

What a terrific experience! Juan gave us a great tour, including things we wouldn’t have seen on our own (nature preserve, ocean, hilltop sunset) and lots of interesting information about the region and its history. He was delightful company and has a great sense of humor. He also is LGBT friendly. We strongly recommend his tour.

I would like to start the review saying that it was the best activity that we had on our family trip. The tour it’s super personalized and the tour guides were such an amazing people. We see Porto in one day and the chocolate and wine tasting was supreme. Thanks very much to Joao and the rest of the team, they love what they do and as tourists we loved to feel that too. We will recommend to everyone in Spain. Obrigadooooooo !!!!

This was by far my favorite activity in Porto. Such a beautiful way to see the city. Joao was a magnificent host that took pride in telling you as much as he could about the city. Truly a one of a kind experience.

DO THIS FIRST! Joao our driver and guide is passionate about his city and took us on an unforgettable tour around cobbled streets past all the sites. I'm my mind a must do.

If you're looking at the reviews trying to decide whether to book with these guys be rest assured & do it. You'll have a great time! We took a morning tour with Pacio on our first day in Porto & loved it. Chilled out Sunday we really enjoyed spending time with Pacio getting to know this great city & beyond.
