Sidecar Experiences in Porto

Unique and quirky !! Unique, quirky way to see the city! We were picked up on time from our hotel and taken on a tour of Porto, including some little steep streets we wouldn't have noticed on our own and told lots of interesting facts about Porto.Lots of stops along the way to enjoy views, architecture, art and ice cream !!A ' must do' if you're in Porto. !

Such a fun and unique way to see Porto with a local! I went as a solo traveler and João made me feel so comfortable and welcome. He had great stories and explanations about the sites and he took some great photos of me with my phone. The vehicle drew in a lot of attention while driving and parked, so I felt like a celebrity. Everyone was smiling, waving, and taking photos. Definitely recommend!

4 Aussies sidecar hopping around Porto This was the most memorable experience of our stay in Porto. We had organised this tour on recommendation of a friend and travel agent in Australia.We met João (John) and Farez at the meeting point, which was conveniently changed to our advantage the day before.We rode to the markets where we walked around and received an insight into the building, history and all the delicacies. We visited St Francis of Assisi church with beautiful blue and white tiles, stopped for a special drink at a local cafe and viewed the Atlantic Ocean from St Catherine church while hearing turkeys gobbling, viewing lemon and peach trees below while sipping champagne. Our tour navigated sunshine and showers but ponchos were provided and the rain did not dampen our experience. We always felt safe and people enjoyed taking photos of us wherever we passed.João conducts a very professional tour and has time to impart his great knowledge of Porto and Portugal with humour and warmth. This is a tour not to be missed.

Our sidecar tour of Porto with Pacio was an incredible experience! We met him at an easy-to-find location, and right from the start, he was prepared — even for the rain that was in the forecast. The ride was super comfortable, and he let us know that we could switch seats throughout the tour if we wanted to.
As we started the tour, Pacio asked what we had already seen in Porto, and since we hadn’t explored yet, he took the opportunity to show us around in the best way possible. He shared a lot of history about the city and gave us a really personal look at Porto through his eyes as a local. It’s always special to experience a city with someone who truly knows and loves it. This was such a fun, memorable way to start our time in Porto — we couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Highly recommend, experience Porto through the eyes and expertise of a local! Also, great experience for Solo travelers. This was the highlight of my trip to Porto.
I did this tour towards the end of my trip and had already seen many of the major sites. As such, João was able to quickly pivot and cater my tour towards showing me the many famous beautiful street art installations all over Porto & Gaia in addition to gorgeous vantage points and cafes frequented by locals, exclusive.
As a bonus, this ride is a show stopper! Be prepared to bring big smiles and waves to all you ride past. SO MUCH FUN!!

João was an amazing tour guide and accomodating for taking a tour on for a surprise for my girlfriend! Extremely knowledgeable on the city and attentive to details. Honestly couldn't recommend more highly, and honestly worth the extra money that you pay over getting a sightseers bus / tuk tuk around Porto.

The best part was that we were the center of attention in the entire city of Porto while riding around! And add to that Joao’s energetic company made the tour and experience absolutely worthwhile. This was the first time I found an experience like this in a European city and trust me I’ve travelled a bunch around. Must do because:
1. You get to see most of the city and beyond with lesser walking
2. Some stunning views that may be hard to reach on foot
3. The amazing history of Porto & Portugal detailed out by Joao and his photography skills are an add on so you will end up having a bunch of them
4. The pleasure of riding in a sidecar takes the cherry on the cake.

Truly the best tour we did in Portugal Of all the tours we did in Portugal (Lisbon and Porto), the half-morning tour with Joao and Peter was by far the best! Joao was super engaged with our kids (8 and 11), funny, spirited, and very knowledgeable. He even got my daughter a pastel de nata with a birthday candle on it because her birthday was coming up. I appreciated some of the historical places we saw, but I especially loved the modern art around the city that he showed us that is relevant to today. I also want to point out that not only did he stop for great photo opportunities, he took really fun posed but also “candid” photos and videos that made them much more interesting. He also dropped us off at a more local seafood spot for lunch which was super delicious. Highly, highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I were in Porto for 8 days and this experience was in our top two activities of our trip. Because this excursion happened on Day 7 of our trip, we had already seen a lot of Porto. Joao pivoted and took us on an “off the beaten path” adventure to view awesome street art, head to the ocean, and have yummy snacks. Joao had awesome recommendations and an incredible sense of humor. We went on a sidecar tour a few days ago and we absolutely loved it. Porto is a beautiful city with stunning views. But the best part of the tour was our driver / guide João. Loved his stories. Loved his knowledge and passion for history. Loved his recommendations for food and activities. But most of all we just loved João. He has a kindness, cheerfulness, humor, and generosity that makes you feel welcome and made the tour extra special. Highly recommended.
